SKIBOWL IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LEARN TO SKI AND SNOWBOARD

Skip the traffic, the overwhelmed parking lots, and pull right up to Skibowl. Right next to the parking lot is our Learn to Ski conveyor lift. For many skiers, this is where it all starts. Where many first catch the magic freedom of skiing. The slow-moving conveyor belt makes it easy for everyone. Just step inch your way on and let it pull you to the top of the gradual, low-angle slope. It’s the perfect place to safely attempt your first turns, to practice your pizza and french fries — okay, maybe more pizzas.

If you need a lesson or rentals, we got you covered. Check out our world class rental center and Olympic Ski and Snowboard School and we’ll get you feeling comfortable, with tips and tricks to work on. Ready to step it up? Skibowl east has great intermediate terrain with rollicking groomers and a classic A-frame, Multorpor Lodge. Warm hot chocolate and espressos await — you deserve it.

ABOUT THE OLYMPIC SKI AND SNOWBOARD SCHOOL

Skibowl’s Olympic Ski and Snowboard School is headed by legendary Petr Kakes. The name of his ski school provides a clue to his passion. During the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France, Kakes placed sixth in Speed Skiing while on the Czech Republic team, where he was clocked at 139 miles per hour. Still a competitor, Kakes has been a fixture at Skibowl for over thirty years, running the Ski School and the Historic Warming Hut.  For over 25 years, he competed each winter in the extreme Arctic Man Competition in Fairbanks, earining three wins to his name.  Each year, his notable team of instructions trains 4,500 new riders and skiers at Skibowl with programs designed for youth and adults of all abilities.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL LESSONS

Tubing Operations Suspended

We’re super excited to see mountain snow in the forecast! Unfortunately, the timing of the snowfall has been very unsettled and moving around a bit. As we approach the weekend, temperatures are now predicted to rise throughout the day on Saturday with heavy rain forecasted for Sunday.

Given those circumstances, we have made the very tough decision to suspend operations for this weekend, December 2nd and 3rd with the primary focus on snow management and preservation. Our teams will be actively farming the snow as it’s falling throughout the storm in an effort to deepen our base prior to any rainfall we may experience.

****Please Note: Ticket sales for future dates have not yet been released.
We’ll provide an update for advanced tubing sales next Wednesday at noon.
